Lemuria est le 11eme tome de la prestigieuse saga Murena (Scénario de Jean Dufaux, aux éditions Dargaud) et le second album réalisé par le dessinateur italien Theo, toujours épaulé par le coloriste Lorenzo Pieri. Les planches originales rehaussées à l’aquarelle sont une symbiose parfaite entre dessin réaliste, délicatesse du trait et chatoiement des couleurs. Pour cette exposition, chaque planche originale sera accompagnée de sa version en petit format sous forme d’esquisse préparatoire au crayon : une belle manière de découvrir le processus de création en deux étapes et le travail si minutieux de Theo. « De Lemuria » celeberrimae narrationis Murenae (operis Johannis Dufaux apud Dargaud) undecimus liber est et secundus ab Theo italiano artifice, Lorentio Pieri colorandi perito iterum adiuvante, delineatus. Tabulae exemplares pigmentorium aquaeque mixtura exornatae verisimilem delineationem, tenuem lineam lucentes coloresque perfecte contexunt. In haec exhibitione, queque exemplaris tabula cum parvo primae delineationis ad operam parandam plumbeo stilo confectae exemplare praebetur. Ita potest ut fabrica in duo tempora et studiosissimum opus Theo pulchre cognoscuntur. Lemuria is the 11th book in the acclaimed Murena saga (words by Jean Dufaux, published by Dargaud) and the second by the Italian artist Theo, assisted again by the colourist Lorenzo Pieri. The original plates enhanced with watercolour are perfect symbiosis between realistic and delicate line drawing, and shimmering colours. For this exhibition, each original plate is presented alongside its small-format preparatory pencil sketch : a great way to discover the two-step creative process and the meticulousness of Theo’s work. And there’s no need to bring a magnigying glass to appreciate all the details…the Champaka gallery has it covered !

Lemuria is het elfde deel van de prestigieuze Murena saga (Scenario Jean Dufaux bij uitgeverij Dargaud) en het tweede album dat gemaakt werd door de Italiaanse tekenaar Theo, steeds bijgestaan door inkleurder Lorenzo Pieri. De met waterverf opgehoogde platen zijn een perfecte symbiose tussen realistische tekenwerk, delicate lijnen en de schittering van kleuren. Voor deze tentoonstelling wordt elke plaat vergezeld van de versie op klein formaat als voorbereidende potloodschets : een prachtige manier om hetscheppingsproces in twee fasen en het minutieuze werk van Theo te ontdekken. Je hoeft geen vergrootglas mee te brengen om alle details te smaken…Daar zorgt Galerij Champaka voor !
