La Galerie Champaka a le grand privilège d’exposer La Bête (Ed. Dupuis), un album-phare signé Zidrou/Frank Pé, qui vient de remporter le Prix Albert Uderzo 2021 du meilleur dessin !
En dépouillant le Marsupilami de toute sa force comique pour en faire le héros d’une aventure dramatique, les auteurs rendent un hommage innovant au personnage imaginé par André Franquin. Amené en Europe par des contrebandiers, le Marsupilami, moribond, est recueilli par le jeune François et sa mère Jeanne. Le cœur du récit est l’amitié particulière qui unira l’enfant à l’animal. Pour ce faire, le scénario de Zidrou irradie d’émotions traduites par le dessin sensible de Frank Pé. L’animalité du Marsu est accentuée, pour rendre plus ardue sa relation avec les êtres humains. Face aux planches originales, l’amateur reste subjugué par l’art de la mise en scène, la beauté des images, et la mise en couleurs toute en vibrations !
Galerij Champaka heeft het groot genoegen Het Beest (uitg. Dupuis) voor te stellen, een uitzonderlijk album van Zidrou/Frank Pé, dat net de Prijs Albert Uderzo 2021 won voor het beste tekenwerk!
De auteurs ontdeden de Marsupilami van al zijn komische kracht en maakten er een held van voor een dramatisch avontuur, waardoor ze een verfrissend eerbetoon brachten aan het figuurtje van André Franquin. De stervende Marsupilami werd door smokkelaars naar Europa gebracht en wordt er opgevangen door de jonge François en zijn moeder Jeanne. De kern van het verhaal is de bijzondere vriendschap die het kind met het dier zal verenigen. Het scenario van Zidrou zit dan ook stikvol emoties die door Frank Pé worden ongezet in gevoelige tekeningen. De dierlijkheid van de Marsu wordt geaccentueerd om zijn moeilijke relatie met de mensen nog lastiger te maken. Bij het bekijken van de originele platen staat de liefhebber geheid verstomd over de bladspiegel, de schoonheid van de tekeningen en de levendige kleuren!

By stripping the Marsupilami of all his slapstick vigour to make him the hero of a dramatic adventure, the authors pay an innovative tribute to the character imagined by André Franquin. Brought to Europe by smugglers, the dying Marsupilami is taken in by young François and his mother Jeanne. At the heart of the story is the special friendship that brings together the child and the animal. To do this, Zidrou’s screenplay radiates the emotions reflected in Frank Pé’s sensitive drawing. The Marsu’s bestial nature is emphasised, which makes his relationship with human beings all the more challenging. Looking at the original artworks, the amateur of comics will be transfixed by the artistry of the staging, the beauty of the images, and the total vibrancy of the colouring!
