Le Nauti-poulpe<\/strong><\/em> arrive \u00e0 Bruxelles ! La sculpture g\u00e9ante en bronze, mi-machine mi-c\u00e9phalopode, qui d\u00e9ploiera ses tentacules sur la place Poelaert, devant le Palais de Justice, est n\u00e9e de l\u2019imagination et du talent du dessinateur-sc\u00e9nographe Fran\u00e7ois Schuiten<\/strong> et du sculpteur Pierre Matter<\/strong>, \u00e0 la demande de la ville d\u2019Amiens dans le but de comm\u00e9morer le 120 \u00e8me anniversaire de la mort de Jules Verne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

En relation avec cette inauguration, la Galerie Champaka<\/strong> a le grand privil\u00e8ge d\u2019accueillir l\u2019exposition des originaux de l\u2019album Le retour du Capitaine Nemo<\/strong><\/em> de Fran\u00e7ois Schuiten<\/strong> et Beno\u00eet Peeters<\/strong> (Ed. Casterman). Le duo embl\u00e9matique, compos\u00e9 du dessinateur visionnaire, artiste polymorphe de la bande dessin\u00e9e belge contemporaine, et de l\u2019\u00e9crivain et critique ressuscite le capitaine Nemo et place le h\u00e9ros de Vingt mille lieues sous les mers<\/em> et de L\u2019\u00eele myst\u00e9rieuse<\/em> aux commandes du Nauti-poulpe<\/em>, un submersible hybride qui navigue sur les traces g\u00e9ographiques de leur univers des Cit\u00e9s Obscures<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Dans ce tr\u00e8s beau livre, hybride lui aussi, alternant bande dessin\u00e9e et r\u00e9cit illustr\u00e9, et port\u00e9 par d\u2019impressionnantes images en noir et blanc, le travail d\u2019orf\u00e8vre de Fran\u00e7ois Schuiten<\/strong> fait \u00e9cho aux grands graveurs du 19 \u00e8me si\u00e8cle dans la lign\u00e9e de Gustave Dor\u00e9, et aux talentueux illustrateurs tels Edouard Riou, Alphonse de Neuville, Jules F\u00e9rat ou L\u00e9on Benett, qui firent la signature visuelle des prestigieuses \u00e9ditions J. Hetzel, indissociables de l\u2019\u0153uvre de Jules Verne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Unique occasion d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir les originaux, la totalit\u00e9 des planches et des couvertures du Retour du capitaine Nemo<\/strong><\/em> sera pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e \u00e0 la Galerie Champaka<\/strong> dans un dispositif d\u2019envergure qui int\u00e8gre \u00e9galement des multiples du Nauti-poulpe<\/strong><\/em> en sculpture ou en digigraphies, ainsi que des illustrations in\u00e9dites au fusain propos\u00e9es en partenariat avec la galerie 9 \u00e8me Art \u00e0 Paris.<\/p>\n

Un \u00e9v\u00e9nement qui s\u2019annonce d\u00e9j\u00e0 comme le grand rendez-vous culturel de cette fin d\u2019ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

\u00ab <\/b>De terugkeer van Kapitein Nemo \u00bb<\/b><\/h2>\n

De Nautipus<\/strong><\/em> komt aan in Brussel! Het gigantische, bronzen beeldhouwwerk, deels machine, deels inktvis, dat zijn tentakels over het Poelaertplein voor het Justitiepaleis gaat spreiden, ontstond in de verbeelding en het talent van tekenaar-scenograaf Fran\u00e7ois Schuiten<\/strong> en de beeldhouwer Pierre Matter<\/strong> op vraag van de stad Amiens om de 120ste verjaardag van het overlijden van Jules Verne<\/strong> te gedenken.<\/p>\n

Ter gelegenheid van deze inhuldiging heeft galerij Champaka<\/strong> het grote voorrecht de originele platen ten toon te stellen van het album De terugkeer van Kapitein Nemo<\/strong><\/em> van Fran\u00e7ois Schuiten<\/strong> en <\/span>Benoit Peeters<\/strong> (Uitg. Casterman). Het legendarische duo dat bestaat uit de visionaire tekenaar en veelzijdig kunstenaar van het Belgisch beeldverhaal en de schrijver en criticus, brengt kapitein Nemo opnieuw tot leven en plaatst de held van Twintigduizend Mijlen onder Zee <\/span>of Het <\/span>Geheimzinnige Eiland <\/span>aan het stuur van de Nautipus, een hybride onderzee\u00ebr die de geografische paden doorkruist van het universum van de Duistere Steden. In dit mooie boek, op zich een hybride die wisselt van strip naar ge\u00efllustreerd verhaal en gedragen wordt door indrukwekkende zwart-wit beelden, doet het nauwgezette werk van Fran\u00e7ois Schuiten denken aan de grote graveurs van de 19de eeuw in de stijl van Gustave Dore of talentvolle illustrators als Edouard Riou, Alphonse de Neuville, Jules Ferat of Leon Benett, die de prestigieuze uitgaven van uitgeverij J. Hetzel van het oeuvre Jules Verne<\/strong> sierden.<\/p>\n

Galerij Champaka<\/strong> brengt het totaal van platen en omslagen van De terugkeer van <\/span>Kapitein Nemo<\/span><\/strong><\/em>, een unieke kans om originelen aan te kopen, samen met verschillende versies van de Nautipus<\/strong> als beeldhouwwerk of als digigrafie, en onuitgegeven kleurillustraties in houtskool in partnerschap met Galerij 9eme <\/span>Art in Parijs.<\/p>\n

Een gebeurtenis die nu al als de grote culturele afspraak van het eindejaar staat aangekondigd.<\/p>\n

The Nauti-Octopus <\/span><\/strong><\/em>is coming to Brussels! The giant bronze sculpture, half-machine, half-cephalopod, spreading its tentacles on Place Poelaert, in front of the Palais de Justice, was born from the imagination and talent of designer-scenographer Fran\u00e7ois Schuiten<\/strong> and sculptor Pierre Matter<\/strong>, at the request of the city of Amiens in order to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the death of Jules Verne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In conjunction with this inauguration, the Champaka Gallery<\/strong> has the great privilege of hosting the exhibition of the original artworks from the album The Return of Captain Nemo<\/span><\/em> <\/span><\/strong>by Fran\u00e7ois Schuiten<\/strong> and Beno\u00eet Peeters<\/strong> (Alaxis Press). This emblematic duo, comprising the visionary cartoonist, a polymorphic artist of contemporary Belgian comics, and the writer-critic, resurrects Captain Nemo and places the hero of Twenty Thousand <\/span>Leagues Under the Sea and <\/span>The Mysterious Island at the controls of the Nauti-Octopus, a <\/span>hybrid submarine that navigates the geographical traces of their universe of The Obscure <\/span>Cities<\/span>. In this very beautiful book, also hybrid, alternating comics with illustrated story, and carried by impressive black-and white-images, the exquisitely crafted work of Fran\u00e7ois Schuiten echoes the great engravers of the 19th century in the lineage of Gustave Dor\u00e9, or such talented illustrators as Edouard Riou, Alphonse de Neuville, Jules F\u00e9rat and L\u00e9on Benett, who created the signature visuals of the prestigious J. Hetzel editions, forever associated with the work of Jules Verne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This unique opportunity to acquire the original artworks of all the pages and covers of The Return of Captain Nemo <\/span><\/strong><\/em>will be presented at the Champaka Gallery<\/strong> in a large-scale display, that also includes multiples of the Nauti-Octopus <\/span><\/strong>in sculptures and digital prints, as well as unpublished charcoal illustrations offered in partnership with the 9\u00e8me <\/span>Art Gallery in Paris.<\/p>\n
